We are an association of visual artists in and around the city of Esslingen in South-West Germany.
Our name 'artgerechte Haltung Bildende Künstler Esslingen e.V.' is a pun.
The literal meaning is 'species appropriate husbandry of artists' emphasizing the respectful approach to the arts at the same time.
Considering both connotations, let us use the abbreviation 'aHBKE' further on.

The Association aHBKE promotes and thematizes current, contemporary art and thus addresses those interested in fine art and especially those creating art.
In this way the association provides a forum for the individual exchange of experiences and ideas based on transparent and open structures.
 
The independent association finances itself with contributions and donations and has been founded by visual artists with the objective to promote the networking and representation of local visual artists, thus improving their work situation.
The focus is the professional, process-oriented contemporary art of regional artists as well as the exchange with other artists, cultural institutions and art associations.
